Community guidelines

Last updated 26 October 2026

Chalo Kahi Chale works because people show up, are kind, and feel safe. By using the app you agree to these rules.

Meet in public, in groups

  • Plans must be at public places: cafes, parks, turfs, theatres, venues and the like. Never at a home, hotel room or private car.
  • Keep plans for groups. Don't use a plan to arrange a private one-on-one meeting.

Friends, not dates

This is not a dating app. Don't use it to pursue romantic or sexual contact, send unwanted advances, or comment on how people look.

Respect everyone

  • No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech or discrimination based on religion, caste, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, disability or anything else.
  • Respect "no". If someone doesn't want to share their number, join a follow-up plan or talk, that's the end of it.
  • Don't photograph or record people without their permission, or share their personal details.

Be honest

  • Use your real first name. Don't pretend to be someone else.
  • Describe plans accurately, including the real venue, time and expected cost.
  • No selling, promotions, multi-level marketing or fundraising disguised as plans.

Show up, or say so

If you can't make it, tap "Can't make it" as early as you can. Hosts: if you have to cancel, cancel in the app so everyone knows.

Keep it legal

  • No illegal activity, drugs or weapons. If a venue serves alcohol, drink responsibly and follow the legal drinking age for that state.
  • Only upload photos you took or have the right to share.

What happens if rules are broken

We may remove plans or photos, limit features, or suspend or delete accounts. Serious cases may be reported to the police. Tell us about problems through the contact page.
